Aura of Worlds: The Roguelite Revolution

Dive into the chaotic, creative world of Aura of Worlds, as it gears up for its full debut on Steam and Nintendo Switch.

After six years of updates and tweaks, the chaotic creative tactics roguelite Aura of Worlds is set to make its full debut on Steam and Nintendo Switch later this year. Developed by the small Victoria, Australia-based team at Cognitive Forge, Aura of Worlds challenges players with a unique blend of quick thinking and precision reflexes, where improvisation and knowledge often outweigh stats.

In Aura of Worlds, you're faced with a myriad of possibilities. Loot the cursed treasure chest or wield it as a weapon? Navigate your way across lava pits or blow them up altogether? The game embraces a 'crazy often works' approach, ensuring a fresh and unpredictable gaming experience each time. This is further amplified by the game's stunning pixel-perfect visuals and catchy chiptune soundtrack, which help to create an immersive and engaging world.

"From the start of development back in 2013, Aura of Worlds drew inspiration from games like Terraria, Dishonored, Spelunky, and other roguelites where simple interactions often lead to complex outcomes," says Anthony Liew, Programmer and Development Lead at Cognitive Forge. "After receiving some incredible player feedback on Steam, we're now gearing up for the full 1.0 release – along with a much-requested Nintendo Switch port."

Aura of Worlds also promises a wealth of content, boasting over 100 unique enemies and traps, 12 randomized level themes, and a range of skills and abilities to master. The game's multi-use objects further enhance the gameplay, allowing a simple lantern to function as a light source, a projectile, or even a Molotov cocktail.

Aura of Worlds is currently available on Steam Early Access for $14.99, with a full 1.0 release on Steam and Nintendo Switch slated for Q2 2024.
