Aya Games has released AYASA: Shadows of Silence on consoles and it's now available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This atmospheric horror puzzle-platformer takes players into the Inverted World, where light reveals hidden paths and survival depends on observation, puzzles, and stealth.
AYASA: Shadows of Silence was first launched on PC via Steam on November 28, 2025. In a statement, Aya Games Founder and CEO Edgar Janoyan revealed that the game was "always meant to speak without words" and this is why they wanted players to feel the game's story instead of reading it. He added that with this latest launch, players on console can now enter the Inverted World and try to find their very own light in the dark.
The Inverted World
AYASA: Shadows of Silence is set in the Inverted World. This is a realm that once held the balance between light and shadow through Tas, the Absolute. However, that harmony was shattered by a war which left the six lands of Faith, Hope, Love, Greed, Indifference and Betrayal, being caught in a spreading darkness. Traveling alone, Ayasa goes on a journey to recover the scattered remnants of Tas's light and restore the lost balance of her world.
Her journey leads through environments that's shaped by the values and failings their names represent. Players need to observe their surroundings, solve environmental puzzles, and use light to reveal hidden routes and awaken ancient machines. If the threats are too dangerous to confront directly, survival depends on timing, stealth and finding a way forward. Uncovering the secrets of each land brings Ayasa closer to understanding what it means to have a conscience. However, the mysteries she leaves unresolved can draw her into the darkness and change the person she becomes.
What makes the game unique is that the whole story unfolds without spoken dialogue. Instead, it is done through movement, surreal imagery and music. Helping with the experience is the soundtrack that's composed by Arman Msryan and draws on the music of Komitas. Meanwhile, the art direction takes inspiration from Tim Burton, René Laloux, Robert Sahakyants, Hayao Miyazaki and Sergei Parajanov.
