The infamous and wise-cracking bobcat returns in a new platforming adventure. Bubsy 4D features new challenges, new moves, and even more “purrsonality.” The game is launching on May 22 for the PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. It's also being made available for consoles PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and the Nintendo Switch 2.
Bubsy 4D sees the return of everyone’s favorite bobcat mascot since its first 3D adventure back in 1996. It brings with it a colorful and expressive platformer that features nostalgic charm and combines it with modern movement mechanics along with that "formidable" sense of humor.
The reason Bubsy returns is that because his longstanding enemies, the fleece-obsessed Woolies, have stolen all of the Earth’s sheep. Initially, it wasn't his problem but the same sheep managed to overthrow their captors and now return as deadly BaaBots. Being empowered by Woolie technology, they're determined to steal none other than Bubsy’s most prized possession, The Golden Fleece.
With the help of his motley crew of acquaintances, Bubsy now has to go across space and try to defeat the BaaBots in order to take back the Golden Fleece. The good news is that he's obtained some new skills to navigate the expansive and craft-themed levels. Bubsy can leap, glide, claw his way up walls, and pounce off enemies. He can also puff up into a new hairball form to roll at blistering speeds.
