Dormidin Studio is launching an official playable demo for Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster on May 15. This brutal 2D action-adventure is a game that's inspired by 80s and 90s cult classics. This upcoming demo serves as a high-stakes preview ahead of its featured participation in the Steam Next Fest.
Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster tells the story of a country that has already been devastated by the wars of the portals. However, things take a turn for the worse as the new king of Imperia banded with the Sacred Kingdom and started a war against non-humans. They've also been using the services of one of the Last Wizards of Arborea, Trece XIII and their generals. There is a silver lining as a prophecy says that a chosen one is said to come and unite Men and beasts to bring peace.
The Last Beastmaster
Players take on the role of the last of the Beastmaster. They can use the souls of animals or creatures to transform and progress in the adventure. They can gather beads for their ritual necklace and in return obtain fangs, amulets, and even plant roots. This changes attacks, vitality, or Mana. Players can also find new sword techniques that their old Sensei taught them. They can use magic potions or summon curses. Still, thanks to the sword, players can get the power of a god.
When it comes to gameplay, Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster offers a continuous Metroidvania-style map which open new paths or unlock new routes with Beastmaster abilities. Players can enter into a duel in the different Arenas with the battle being a close camera and energy bars like in the classic fighting games.
Throughout their adventure, players can meet NPCs that give more strength to the narrative of the story.

Barbarian Saga: The Beastmaster is released in Fall 2026. It's going to be available for the PC via Steam. The game is also launching for consoles PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch. Standard physical editions are being offered for the PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch.
