A new update has been released for Brawlhalla. Patch 11.00 brings with it new experimental features. In particular, it focuses on Weapon Spawn and Barraza Signature Enhancements.
Weapon Spawn Update
In a post, Blue Mammoth Games revealed that they wanted to make sur that players have more influence when it comes to where the next weapon spawns during a match. For example, while holding a weapon, the weapon spawn that is closest in proximity to the player is deactivated. Then if all weapon spawns are deactivated by players with weapons, any weapon spawn can now be chosen, similar to current weapon spawn behavior.
The development team also added a weapon spawn viewer in training mode and replays.
For the team, the goal of the feature is to increase player engagement by encouraging the player with a weapon to pressure the players who do not in order to deny them a free weapon spawn. It should also help players who are left unattended and unarmed by giving them a higher chance of getting a favorable weapon spawn. Ultimately, the feature hopes to create more strategic depth with a player's map positioning.
Barraza Signature Enhancements
The team is also working on some improvements for Barraza. They're working on new experimental wall versions for his Side Axe, Neutral Blasters, Side Blasters, and Down Blasters Signatures. The wall versions cover a range of scenarios and positions where the player previously had little to no options for a Signature attack that would be unobstructed by stage geometry. This should allow for more viable choices during combat while offstage or in awkward positions.
The new patch also teases an 11th Anniversary Event which you can read more about here. The studio has also launched a new sweepstakes which you can learn more about here.
Brawlhalla is a free-to-play platform fighting game developed by Blue Mammoth Games. In the game, the goal is to knock the opponent into one of four areas outside of the visual boundaries of the map, which are known as blastzones. To do this, players need to either force opponents into one of the blastzones with an attack or prevent them from returning to stage and allowing gravity to force them into the bottom blastzone.
Brawlhalla was released in 2017 and made available for the PC and PlayStation 4. It was later ported for the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and even mobile platforms that include iOS and Android. Later, the studio released full cross-play support across all platforms.
For the PC, Brawlhalla can be accessed through Steam.
