Lords of Exile, a nostalgic throwback to 8-bit side-scrolling action platformers, is now available for immediate release. The game is a collaboration between PID Games, PixelHeart, and indie game development studio Squidbit Works. Lords of Exile offers a unique auditory experience with music contributions from legendary composers Yuzo Koshiro and Dominic Ninmark, as well as the talented Pentadrangle. Carlos Azuaga, the solo-developer of the game, expressed his pride and gratitude for the support he received during the development process. He emphasized how fulfilling it was to realize his dream of creating his own game as an independent developer, despite the challenges faced.
The game invites players to embark on a quest for revenge in the far Lands of Exilia. Players will explore 8 levels of classic linear design, each featuring challenging obstacles and enemies. The protagonist, a bloodthirsty cursed knight, gains an extra skill after defeating each boss, enhancing the gameplay experience. The game also boasts of gameplay variety, allowing players to experience a range of mechanics, from throwing weapons to melee combat, down stabs, jumping, and dashing.
