Hippo Games released an update which introduced new content to the demo for Auris. There's a new puzzle, new achievement, and even a new cutscene. Players can also experience a new way to play with controller support now available.
The same update brings with it visual polish and bug fixes. In a post, the studio shared that they'll be releasing updates to the demo in the future since for now they want to "focus on developing the rest of the game."
Auris is a 2D Puzzle platformer where players take on the role of a blind kid. They're trapped in the Wortex Research Institute, a highly dangerous facility that's filled with traps. Having no vision, the only way to navigate is to use echolocation. As they jump and walk, they make sounds which let them visualize the world around them. However, there are instances when it is important to remain silent so they have to make as little noise as possible. Players need to be aware of their surroundings and bring cautious at all times is essential especially if they want to escape. Be sure to check the platforms before jumping onto it and of course, make sure not to miss the important items. As they make their escape, players need to prepare as well for bats, rats, and mutated creatures. Sometimes their behavior is predictable so their actions can be used to the advantage of the players.
The thing is, they're not the only persons trapper in the evil facility. Other kids and their relatives are also in danger, unaware of what awaits them. As players find their way out, they need to make sure they don't leave the others behind. After all, they might provide that much needed help in the future.
Making things worse is that their mother has been taken by the lab personnel for medical treatment. The nature of the facility suggests that something is off about the kind of treatment people receive here. Players also need to find their mother and escape together.
Auris is expected to be released in 2027. Wishlist the game on Steam now.
