The game is being released for PC and consoles.
Valkyrie Initiative announced that playtest sign-ups for Kettlebell: Inferno Hotel are now open and accessible through Steam. Those able to join the playtest and meet certain criteria get the chance to obtain a range of exclusive in-game rewards. These include a golden kettlebell skin, a smelly kettlebell skin, and a stylish yellow shirt for Mr. K.
In a statement, solo developer 70`Strike revealed that to get some of the rewards, players need genuine skill. It qualifies them for the top reward, provided that they meet other requirements. Meanwhile, additional rewards can be unlocked through other Playtest achievements and participation requirements. Inspired by 16-bit Classics
Kettlebell: Inferno Hotel is made possible by solo developer 70`Strike today. It's a fast-paced 2D platformer that's inspired by the 16-bit classics of the ’90s. The game comes packed with humor, destruction, grotesque enemies, and pure hellish energy. It sends players into a bizarre underworld where the circles of Hell have been reimagined as the floors of a chaotic infernal hotel.
Meet Mr. K
Kettlebell: Inferno Hotel has players take control of Mr. K. This ordinary office clerk and all-around decent guy has his fate take a darkly comic turn after a ridiculous accident sends him straight to Hell instead of Heaven. There, he arrives at the gates of the Inferno Hotel, a surreal place where each floor has its own rules, atmosphere, and dangers. With the hotel in chaos and its floors sealed off, Mr. K must fight his way through every trial in search of an audience with the Boss to set this cosmic mistake right.
The Inferno Hotel
The game has players go through nine floors of the Inferno Hotel. There are more than 40 handcrafted levels that feature fast and dynamic platforming with strange mechanics, grotesque enemies and bosses, which are then combined with surreal locations ranging from fiery factories to a park of homeless souls. Inspired by the spirit of the Mega Drive and Super Nintendo era, it’s sure to have that familiar retro sensibilities mixed in with fresh ideas, satirical humor, and an offbeat personality of its own.
Kettlebell: Inferno Hotel is planned to be released for the PC via Steam and GOG. The game is also coming to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
