Developer Seethingswarm announced that Primal Planet is now available on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. It's being offered for $19.99 with PlayStation Plus members and Xbox players getting 10% off for a limited period.
The game is a result of five years of work by solo developer Albert van Zyl, also known as Seethingswarm. Despite being a one-man game studio, Seethingswarm has more than 10 years of experience when it comes to creating immersive action-adventure games that's able to captivate players and push the boundaries of storytelling. In a statement, Seethingswarm shared that the goal is to deliver games that offer "unforgettable adventures."
Primal Planet is a metroidvania that features survival and crafting elements and combines it with a pixel-perfect aesthetic and an action-packed story. It's a game that takes place on a lush planet filled with dinosaurs. Players take on the role of a cave dweller who fights to protect his family. In addition to surviving a brutal attack from a T-Rex, they also get to learn more about the narrative that blends the wild with intriguing sci-fi twists. Players get to forge unexpected alliances as they unravel the truth behind an alien presence.
Survive with Cunning
When it comes to surviving the wilderness, one important skill is cunning. Players need to use natural resources in order to craft vital tools, weapons, and mixtures for healing and protection. Once they gain experience, they can then upgrade skills to get a better chance at defeating the various dangers of a primal planet.
Diverse Biomes
In this primal planet are diverse biomes, each one having unique challenges and secrets. There are dense forests, sprawling plains, treacherous mountains, and even mysterious ocean depths where danger awaits. In all of these, players encounter different dinosaurs, from the majestic Apatosaurus and all the way to the terrifying Carnotaurus. Each dinosaur has been perfectly adapted to its habitat.
Local Co-op
The game allows players to team up with a friend through local co-op. In particular, the second player can jump in at any time as Sino the nimble sinosauropteryx, the faithful companion.
