Set to release on July 23, 2024, this retro-inspired game is sure to ignite nostalgia in players with its music by legendary composer Manami Matsumae, known for her work on Mega Man and Shovel Knight. The game is designed to challenge players and features bosses designed by famed mangaka Yuu Watari. The game's premise revolves around saving the retro gaming realm from the threat of big-budget, mainstream video games. The game features real-life Japanese video game streamers known as “Ii Otonatachi” who pay tribute to the classics they love the most, such as Mega Man and Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, by transforming into video game characters themselves. The gameplay emulates the look, sound, and feel of a game made before 1995, adding to the authentic retro experience.
The game offers five different characters, each with their own unique jumping style and attack mode. Players will have to navigate through different terrains, enemies, and traps, with some levels favoring certain characters over others.
