Studio Provides Update on Anti-Cheating Measures for Brawlhalla

While they may not provide that much update, the team continues to work on ensuring a fair game play experience.

Blue Mammoth Games provided an update on anti-cheating measures that they are working on for Brawlhalla. In particular, it focuses on those who use software that plays the game for them.

In a post, the studio revealed that they've long wanted to start a discussion on the topic. However, they also believed that any public post about cheating also serves to advertise it. The studio went on to say that they've been working quietly to address the cheating issue and preferred to let the bans speak for themselves. Still, it was important for the community to know what's going on and what the studio is doing about it.

This latest cheating issue though is different from the usual ones. That's because according to the studio, cheaters are now running programs that watch the game and then press buttons for them. Making things even worse is that the inputs being made by these same programs are similar to those of a top level player.

The studio shared that they're working on detecting these kinds of cheats. However, they can't provide any details as it could result in the cheaters knowing about it and then using that information to get around it. The studio did assure everyone that the methods being used are better than what it was in the past. In addition, enforcement is now stricter with cheaters now being permanently banned. Meanwhile, those who help them make or even distribute the tools could face potential legal action.

Brawlhalla is a free-to-play platform fighting game developed by Blue Mammoth Games. In the game, the goal is to knock the opponent into one of four areas outside of the visual boundaries of the map, which are known as blastzones. To do this, players need to either force opponents into one of the blastzones with an attack or prevent them from returning to stage and allowing gravity to force them into the bottom blastzone.

Brawlhalla was released in 2017 and made available for the PC and PlayStation 4. It was later ported for the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and even mobile platforms that include iOS and Android. Later, the studio released full cross-play support across all platforms.

For the PC, Brawlhalla can be accessed through Steam.
