It’s releasing for the PC and Nintendo Switch consoles.
O. and Co. Games announced that TetherGeist is launching on May 7. This precision platformer is built around hyper-responsive movement that's challenging but at the same time rewarding. It's going to be available for the PC via Steam along with consoles Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.
TetherGeist puts players in the role of Mae. She's a young Mountain Shaman whose spirit cannot fully leave her body like others in her village. Instead of freely spirit-walking, she projects her astral form as a tethered extension of herself. Once her coming-of-age pilgrimage starts, she needs to cross the world using her unique ability. Astral Projection is an ability that lets Mae extend her spirit outward like a grappling hook and lets her swing across chasms, weave through traps, and execute movement that feels impossible until it suddenly clicks.
Players are invited to be part of the challenging journey as Mae makes use of that tough but satisfying platforming to leap and bound towards her goal. They'll have to master seven different Azae that change how their spirit interacts with the environment.
What makes TetherGeist unique is that there's no combat and even no upgrade trees. Instead, the game gives players the chance to experience an adventure with Mae and her axolotl spirit companion Bao across a story-rich world filled with hidden secrets and multiple endings. This journey of obstacles is one that rewards practice and patience.
In a statement, Jordan from O. and Co. Games shared that in the game, the "tether defines everything the player can do." He added that they wanted something where mastery comes from learning how movement actually works in each space instead of unlocking new tools.
For the PC version, the minimum system requirements are:

- Processor: Dual Core CPU
- Memory: 2 GB RAM
- Graphics: OpenGL 4-compliant onboard graphics
- Storage: 1 GB available space
- Sound Card: basic
- VR Support: None
TetherGeist is releasing May 7 on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. In addition to the Standard Edition, TetherGeist is launching on Steam with a Supporter Edition that includes the full soundtrack and a digital artbook.
