Firevolt announced that WheelMates is now available on Steam for the PC. This 2-player co-op driving adventure focuses on a pair of tiny RC cars.
The game is currently being offered at Steam for a 10% discount until September 16. The studio is also offering the Supporter Edition. It has the base game plus the Supporter Pack. The Supporter Pack contains exclusive customization options. These include the Model II car body, Silver and Gold paint colors, The Helmet and The Tailpipe antennas, and Mountain King Horn.
There is also a Friend's Pass which lets players invite one friend to play with them for free.
The Search Begins
WheelMates tells the story of one Professor Everett Bloom. After an experiment gone wrong, he decides to call out for help to the players. With the use of special neuro-headsets, players enter two tiny RC cars and then set off through his home laboratory in search of a missing scientist.
While at toy-car scale, ordinary rooms take on a completely different shape. As players venture further into the house, they discover more about it. These include familiar rooms and even hidden routes. There are also things that feel far removed from an ordinary home.
The RC cars have abilities that open up familiar rooms in new ways. For example, they can make paths that were out of reach before becoming accessible. The cars can also reveal secrets that players may have missed the first time around. In addition, a closer look around the house can result in customization parts and as a result, give players more ways to change the look of their cars.
