The Angel Cats are back and better than ever before. Get ready as Twin Shot Deluxe is now available on Steam.
This complete remaster is an arcade platform shooter where players need to defend their homeland against invaders using bows and arrows. There are more than 200 new levels available that's set across four worlds. Each world features unique challenges, bosses and enemies. There's the option to play solo or team up with friends in a local co-op. Players can also play competitively to see who gets crowned champion.
The first Twin Shot game was released back in February 2009. Then in December 2025, developer Nitrome revealed that they were coming out with an expanded remaster.
Improvements Made
Indeed, Twin Shot Deluxe received a complete graphical overhaul. The studio revealed that they painstakingly remade each every single sprite, animation, character, background and menu. All of this was done to elevate the art to new heights.
The studio also shared that they couldn't let the game lag at 20FPS. As a result, it has been upgraded to 60FPS along with a 16:9 ratio. Meanwhile, a new intro animatic was made with the ending illustrations remastered to pixel art perfection.
The thing is, it's not just the characters and enemies that experienced a revamp. There's also the Colossus, who's big, mean and totally climbable. Players can also unlock the new Atlantis theme that brings with it exciting new enemies and mechanics to enjoy across its 50 stages.
Cheats and Treats
Players should also be happy to know that cheats and treats are back. They can unlock a plethora of abilities and options for enhanced replay. Players can spend their loot on familiar character skins, fun modes like Tag and Fart mode, weapons and health options. They can also listen to music tracks and even make their character a giant and more.
Claim the Crown
Get to fight among friends or solo to see who gets crowned champion. Hats aren't just hilariously cosmetic but also come with additional buffs. There's a twisted hat that lets players shoot backwards, jump off enemies' heads with the old boot or turn to stone with the Medusa Headdress.
