In order to come up with an uncompromising 2D game that offered amazing beauty, the development team made the decision to go back to the roots of the genre. In addition, they also decided to take the most difficult path possible and that is to use meticulously drawn, colored and animated by hand with the use of classic frame-by-frame techniques. The studio went on to say that they didn't cut any corners and the results showed that it was worth it.
