Koshmar: The Last Reverie is coming soon to Steam. It tells the story of a mortician’s daughter who can walk the line between sleeping and waking. To become the nightmare that nightmares fear, players have to fight through the dreams, seal the rifts, make choices that chip away at who she is.
The game puts players in the role of Violet. She's someone who's raised among cadavers, feared by the living, and ignored by her father. She only has one place of warmth and that is the dream world she shares with her best friend. However, a mysterious sleeping plague takes everything away and results in Violet being forced to venture where no one dares.
Explore the Gothic City
Koshmar: The Last Reverie has players explore Radwan, a gothic city of many faces that's now losing a battle against the plague. To learn more about the city, they'll have to climb to the rooftops, slide down the alley walls, and even crawl through underbellies. Each district suffers in its own way, whether it's the blue-collar outskirts or the dieselpunk industrial zones.
Choose for Violet
The game has a dynamic sanity system that is able to shape Violet through her actions and decisions she makes. Players can customize her outfit and lantern to match the transformation. The choice is all up to the players. They can turn her into a queen of the nightmares or a porcelain doll lost to delusions.
The Power of Dreams
The game has players master dream or nightmare abilities. They can choose unique skill trees and then develop their own fighting style to defeat a wide range of enemies, each demanding its own approach. Meanwhile, the dynamic difficulty scaling allows players to match their strength
Seal the Rifts
There are nightmare rifts which serve as gateways into the dreams of Radwan’s sleeping. It's scattered across the city and once players enter them, they'll have to fight through what lurks within. They have to seal enemies if they want to take the person up. Every closed rift offers rewards that allow players to craft items while also preparing Violet for the next rift. Take note that some rifts are procedurally generated to make sure that each dive into personal nightmares is truly distinct.
