This FPS-Platformer offers exploration and combines it with speedrunning.
The FPS-Platformer DeadCore Redux is all set to be released this January 15 on Steam. The game challenges the platforming skills of players along with their precision. It offers exploration that's mixed with speedrunning.
The game begins with you waking up after experiencing an endless fall through powerful magnetic storms. With your memory erased, you now have to explore that world around you. You spot what seems to be the most gigantic Tower emerging from the mists. You know deep inside that the only way to get the answers you need is to reach the Summit of this Tower.
Releasing Abilities
DeadCore Redux arms you with what's known as the SwitchGun. This lets you activate or deactivate complex mechanisms along with the numerous patrolling entities. There are upgrades available once you obtain them, you not only get to improve its powers but even unlock new moves.
One such move is called as Dash. It lets you take new shortcuts while also exploring new areas of the Tower.
Unlocking Mysteries
Aside from the upgrades you can get for the SwitchGun, there are also a lot of collectibles that can be found which can be used to lift the veil on the origins of the Tower. Sparks for example allow you to unlock challenging levels. Meanwhile, Logs contain memories of former explorers who took on the Tower. Then there are the music Tracks that let you build a custom playlist.
New Features
DeadCore Redux is actually a remaster of the FPS-Platformer DeadCore, first released in 2014. In addition to the features available in the original title, the latest version also offer new graphics. The game has been completely remade using the new 3D engine Unity HDRP which feature modern PBR lighting and Volumetrics effects, new 3D models and textures, revamped VFXs and new UI. Completely revamped as well are the SFXs with the soundtrack being remastered. Meanwhile, the audio game mixing has been improved to allow for more immersion and clarity.
For the gameplay experience, one new feature is the "Gateway," which offers a new gigantic Story level for players to complete before reaching the "true" ending. There's also Solo Rank System. This new offline rank system gives badges for each level based on the performance of the players.
