A demo for The Dream of Limbo is now live on Steam. With this, players have the chance to experience the core combat flow of the game.

For the demo that’s available on Steam, there’s a guided tutorial available that introduces the core mechanics. Players can also experience the first boss fight in each area. Everyone should be happy to know that there’s a story dialogue that’s exclusive for this demo.

As a demo, players are reminded that the game remains to be a work in progress. The music and sound effects haven’t been fully implemented yet. Meanwhile, the UI is still being refined.

Meet Psyche

The Dream of Limbo offers the relentless pressure of bullet hell and combines it with the intensity of action combat. It features destructible bullet patterns and stage design that's built around dive-based interactions. Players take control of the highly mobile protagonist named Psyche. They face against the ever-changing bosses in a world where nightmares intertwine with fairy tales. They can also earn boss-linked platform weapons that expand tactical options over time.

Psyche actually fights alongside three partners, each one having unique offensive and defensive traits. By timing partner summons and activating their skills, players can overturn the battle in critical moments and create new opportunities for counterattacks and survival.

Fairy Tale Bullet Hell

The Dream of Limbo is a dark fairy tale bullet hell action game. It has players needing to make constant split-second decisions amid dense bullet patterns and high-speed movement. They'll have to read the rhythm of the barrage, spot openings, and use dive attacks to break key targets. At the same time they have to maintain control of the battlefield through precise execution.

Core Gameplay

At its core, The Dream of Limbo isn't just about dodging but also about destruction. Players have to shatter key platforms and targets with dive attacks, reshaping routes, and redefining safe zones. They'll also need to destroy critical bullets as a way to counter battlefield mechanics. This is an action-forward experience where offense becomes defense. Of course, it's important to make instant decisions. Meaning what to break, where to dive, and when to counterattack. Remember to keep rhythm to maintain the advantage.

For the full release, players can look forward to 19 boss fights and 16 platform weapons. There’s also a complete story and additional areas to explore and conquer.
