Lonely Penguin is a game about a titular character who's at the summit of a mountain awaiting death. Of course, we don't want that and you, as the player, need to save this wonderful animal. However, time is limited. The question is do you have what it takes to be the hero?
That's the premise of this upcoming title from developer GalaxyVerse. The game is set to be released and available for the PC via Steam on February 21.
Lonely Penguin is set deep in Antarctica. It seems that a lonely penguin is at the top of a mountain and this creature has lost all hope and is simply waiting for death. Making things difficult is that there's 60 minutes to save the penguin. It's not only a race against time but also a race against nature and even versus other players.
Lonely Penguin is all about being the one who reaches the penguin at the summit, embraces the creature, and then carries that same creature back to the flock. It's a race where survival slowly disappears into the snow.
In the game, the parkour is ruthless and one mistake can send you tumbling into the abyss. You have friends with you but don't put too much trust. That's because they can either pull you back up or make the decision to leave you behind and continue themselves toward the penguin. After all, the choice is theirs.
Watch the Time
The game has a 60-minute countdown. After all, the penguin’s heart can’t endure much longer. The game needs you to reach the penguin and then return to the safe zone within that time period.
Remember that once the countdown starts, it never stops. If you fail to reach the penguin within 60 minutes then it's all over. A wrong path, a small fall, or even a moment of hesitation, each one leads to irreversible consequences.
Help or Not
The game gives players the chance to go on the rescue along or with up to 3 friends. Everyone can make the decision to stick together. However, each one can also set their own pace, choose their own route, and with it face their own risks.
