Demo for Moss: The Forgotten Relic Now Available on Steam

The demo offers 30 minutes of spoiler-free playtime.

A new demo of Moss: The Forgotten Relic is now available on Steam. It invites players to meet a tiny hero that happens to also be a mouse. The demo offers about 30 minutes of spoiler-free playtime.

The demo has players explore the handcrafted and diorama-like biomes where they solve environmental puzzles that've been woven naturally into the world. Of course, they also get to discover a few secrets along the way.

Those interested in the game should be happy to know that the game is Steam Deck Verified. The PC version features widescreen & ultrawide displays. There’s also the high framerate gameplay.

Quick Update

The demo was made available last week and the development team has introduced a small update which brings with it some improvements. One of these is on the Quill Interactions, in particular the Quill petting interactions have been improved. Meanwhile, the jump readability has been improved especially during the climb to the Warden encounter. Another change is that the mouse cursor now properly highlights options in the pause menu.

In a post, the development team revealed that one of the feedback they've received is that the demo doesn't do enough when it comes to teaching players the controls. In a way, the team agreed to this issue saying that while they did what they can to offer the best "guidance along the way," some of the mechanics won't have the same introduction that they do in the full game.

The team went on to say that they hope to continue receiving feedback since they love to hear what the players are "feeling."

Moss: The Forgotten Relic is part of the Moss franchise and introduces players to a young mouse named Quill. The game unites the saga of Quill into one seamless and beautifully enhanced experience for PC and consoles. It features handcrafted cinematography through newly designed cutscenes and camera systems. There's also modernized visuals and platform-specific enhancements

Moss: The Forgotten Relic is releasing sometime in July. It's going to be available for the PC via Steam along with consoles PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
